Rodri Hernandez Cascante (born on June 22, 1996) is a Spanish professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for the Premier League club Manchester City and the Spain national team. He started his senior career with Villarreal B in 2013, before making his first-team debut in 2014. He moved to Atlético Madrid in 2015 for a fee of €20 million and won the UEFA Europa League in his first season. In 2019, he signed for Manchester City for an initial fee of £62.
Rodri was born on 18 June 1996, in San Fernando, Province of Cádiz, Andalusia. He joined Atlético Madrid's youth setup in 2006, aged ten. He was promoted to the C-team three years later and became one of the side's most important players. In 2013 he moved up to the reserve team.
